(21/11/24) A total of 444 cartons of pasta sauce made their journey from Penang to Shah Alam and finally to the Soup Kitchen, thanks to the incredible support of Kiwanians who lent a hand to unload the sauces. Shout out to Sandra and Jocelyn! That’s actually 10,656 packets of tomato paste that could feed up to 31,968 people! I’m not a numbers person, but WOW—it’s amazing to think that all of this would have just ended up in landfills if we hadn’t stepped in to redirect it to the soup kitchen.
I am incredibly grateful to The Assembly Soup Kitchen, who will turn these sauces into meals for the B40 community, refugees, schools, and those in need. I look forward to seeing the delicious menu they will create for the beneficiaries. None of this would have been possible without Mr. Jayshankar Velayutham from Dr. Oetker Nona Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. who reached out to me.
We hope to inspire even more individuals to join us in preventing food waste and helping feed our communities. If you are interested in getting involved or supporting our projects, please reach out to us to find out how you can help. Together, we can make a real difference!

Service is strongest when partnerships come together

Service is strongest when partnerships come together. The Kiwanis Club of Visionaries is honoured to collaborate with Books For A Better World (BFBW) and Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) to turn excess food stock into meaningful community impact. When Gains Global reached out to donate their surplus items, we worked together to ensure these treats reached communities that would truly appreciate them. Together, we distributed the donated goodies to: 🏫 Raphael Academy – bringing smiles and excitement to the children 🏡 En Yuan Old Folks Home – sharing warmth and cheer with our senior citizens This collaboration reflects what Kiwanis is all about — serving the community, reducing wastage, and creating positive change through teamwork. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to: 🙏 Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) for their generosity and social responsibility 📚 Books For A Better World (BFBW) for coordinating and facilitating this meaningful initiative It is partnerships like these that allow us to serve more, reach more, and do more good together. #KiwanisClubOfVisionaries #KiwanisMalaysia #GainsGlobal #BauliMalaysia #BooksForABetterWorld #CommunityService #FoodDonation #ReduceWastage #ServingTheChildren #ServingTheElderly #TogetherWeCan

PONGGAL 202617 1月 266Klang

PONGGAL 2026

🌾 Celebrating Ponggal with Heart and Heritage 🌾 This year, we were honored to join the Apex Club of Klang and MYKITA in celebrating the vibrant Pongal festival at MYKITA Hostel, Kerling. PonGgal, the cherished Tamil harvest festival, is a time of gratitude, tradition, and togetherness. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with the boys we met during last year’s GGAC 2025 Youth Camp in Mantin, young hearts who remembered us fondly and welcomed us with joy. Many of these children are orphans, growing up without parental care, yet deeply loved by those who nurture them. Their resilience shines through as they are top scholars, talented athletes, and some even represent their state in sports. We began the day with a heartfelt prayer for health and prosperity, followed by the creation of beautiful rice based kolam artwork. The ceremonial cooking of Ponggal, a dish symbolizing abundance, made by boiling rice with milk and jaggery reminded us of the festival’s essence “boiling over” with blessings. The celebration came alive with spirited performances of Kalaripayat and Silambam, showcasing the children’s discipline, pride, and cultural heritage. In line with the Kiwanis motto "Serving the children of the world", we donated three laptops, hoping they will empower these bright young minds on their journey toward excellence. Grateful for the opportunity to share this day of joy, tradition, and connection. Nandri Vanakkam
