What an exciting weekend! We had Kiwanis Mid-Term and the Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis held on the same day (20 APR 2024) at Courtyard by Marriott, Setia Alam. The Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis was initiated by the Kiwanis Club of TTDI in 2001. After a 10-year hiatus, it was hosted by Kiwanis Malaysia to elevate this prestigious event to a national event.
The night was filled with palpable excitement as Kiwanians eagerly awaited our guest of honour His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin. We honoured eight (mothers who come from all over Malaysia, they showed us the meaning of motherhood, their patience and resilience to raise children with special needs despite all odds against them. Kiwanis Malaysia awards all recipients RM5,000 each. Mothers were also presented gifts from sponsors such as Mary Kay, Orchidmas, Nature Farm, Potions, Mydin, Lexis Hibiscus, Antico Salloon and Yani Bakhtiar.
The night was filled with entertainment by Clarence Kang (autistic savant), the Monocort Band and songstress Ushera, led by our emcees Nazrudin Rahman and Sheahnee Lee.
Huge thank you to our amazing Organising Chair Dato' Fatimah Saad and the dedicated members of the organizing committee for making this event possible!

Service is strongest when partnerships come together

Service is strongest when partnerships come together. The Kiwanis Club of Visionaries is honoured to collaborate with Books For A Better World (BFBW) and Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) to turn excess food stock into meaningful community impact. When Gains Global reached out to donate their surplus items, we worked together to ensure these treats reached communities that would truly appreciate them. Together, we distributed the donated goodies to: 🏫 Raphael Academy – bringing smiles and excitement to the children 🏡 En Yuan Old Folks Home – sharing warmth and cheer with our senior citizens This collaboration reflects what Kiwanis is all about — serving the community, reducing wastage, and creating positive change through teamwork. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to: 🙏 Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) for their generosity and social responsibility 📚 Books For A Better World (BFBW) for coordinating and facilitating this meaningful initiative It is partnerships like these that allow us to serve more, reach more, and do more good together. #KiwanisClubOfVisionaries #KiwanisMalaysia #GainsGlobal #BauliMalaysia #BooksForABetterWorld #CommunityService #FoodDonation #ReduceWastage #ServingTheChildren #ServingTheElderly #TogetherWeCan

PONGGAL 202617 1月 266Klang

PONGGAL 2026

🌾 Celebrating Ponggal with Heart and Heritage 🌾 This year, we were honored to join the Apex Club of Klang and MYKITA in celebrating the vibrant Pongal festival at MYKITA Hostel, Kerling. PonGgal, the cherished Tamil harvest festival, is a time of gratitude, tradition, and togetherness. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with the boys we met during last year’s GGAC 2025 Youth Camp in Mantin, young hearts who remembered us fondly and welcomed us with joy. Many of these children are orphans, growing up without parental care, yet deeply loved by those who nurture them. Their resilience shines through as they are top scholars, talented athletes, and some even represent their state in sports. We began the day with a heartfelt prayer for health and prosperity, followed by the creation of beautiful rice based kolam artwork. The ceremonial cooking of Ponggal, a dish symbolizing abundance, made by boiling rice with milk and jaggery reminded us of the festival’s essence “boiling over” with blessings. The celebration came alive with spirited performances of Kalaripayat and Silambam, showcasing the children’s discipline, pride, and cultural heritage. In line with the Kiwanis motto "Serving the children of the world", we donated three laptops, hoping they will empower these bright young minds on their journey toward excellence. Grateful for the opportunity to share this day of joy, tradition, and connection. Nandri Vanakkam
