Description

Transforming the Lives of Children

Help put computers in the hands of our most disadvantaged children to support their online learning classes.
With schoolchildren kept away from schools once again under MCO 3.0, children from low-income families are struggling to keep up with online lessons due to the lack of devices and internet connections. Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be left behind simply because they lack the necessary tools.

Our Mission

"Kids Need Computers" aims to change this reality by setting an ambitious target of supplying 1,000 tablets to families in need. These tablets will be a beacon of hope, enabling children to participate in online classes and continue their education uninterrupted. A single tablet can benefit multiple children within a family, making each donation have a profound and lasting impact.

How You Can Help

We ask the public to donate generously to this cause. A donation of RM 850 will purchase a tablet equipped with a prepaid chip for three months of usage. By donating one unit, you are not just giving a device; you are providing a gateway to knowledge, opportunities, and a brighter future for these children.

Why It Matters

The ongoing pandemic has highlighted the digital divide, with children from low-income families being the hardest hit. Without access to computers or the internet, these children risk falling behind their peers, widening the educational gap. By providing tablets, we are giving them the tools they need to succeed in their studies and beyond.

The Multiplier Effect

Each tablet donated has the potential to serve multiple children in a household, amplifying the positive impact of your contribution. This means your generosity will not just change one life but can touch the lives of several children, fostering an environment where learning and growth are possible.

Join Us

We are calling on the Malaysian public to open their hearts and contribute to this noble cause. Your donation can make a significant difference in the lives of children who need it the most. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind in their educational journey.
Help us reach our goal of 1,000 tablets. Donate now and be a part of this transformative initiative. Your kindness can light up the path to a better future for our children.
Every contribution counts. Together, we can make a difference.

The Kiwanis Child Development Centre (KCDC)5Taman Tun Dr. Ismail

The Kiwanis Child Development Centre (KCDC)

The Kiwanis Child Development Centre (KCDC) is dedicated to early intervention—supporting neurodivergent children during their most critical stages of development, from the early years through early school age. This is a pivotal period when essential social, communication, and cognitive foundations are formed. Through this initiative, KCDC aims to provide essential therapy services to approximately 60 to 80 neurodivergent children annually, up to the age of 12, who experience sensory and developmental challenges. Priority will be given to children from marginalised communities and families facing socio-economic challenges. According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (December 2025), the average monthly gross household income for families with at least one person with a disability increased from RM5,679 in 2022 to RM6,540 in 2024. However, household expenditure has also risen significantly—from RM3,974 in 2022 to RM4,545 in 2024. For many of these families, early intervention services may be viewed as a luxury, secondary to essential needs such as food, housing, and daily living expenses. In response, KCDC is committed to making therapy more accessible by offering services at subsidised rates for lower-income families. In line with Kiwanis’ mission of serving the children of the world, KCDC will be managed and operated by the Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, in collaboration with certified allied health professionals. Beginning May 2026, KCDC will offer Occupational Therapy at subsidised rates, prioritising families within the B40 income group.
