Kiwanis Children's Fund Grant Briefs & Info
The Kiwanis Children's Fund (KCF) offers grants to Kiwanis clubs and districts to support impactful community projects that align with Kiwanis' mission of improving the lives of children and building better communities. These grants are available through several programs, such as the Club Grant Program, Microgrant Program, and District Grant Program. The Club Grant Program funds service projects designed to create measurable benefits for children in need, while the Microgrant Program provides smaller funds for immediate, short-term initiatives. District grants help scale up larger projects within a broader geographic region. Eligible projects should emphasize sustainable, innovative, and community-driven solutions, with a clear focus on addressing critical needs related to health, education, and youth empowerment. The process for applying includes submitting a detailed project proposal that demonstrates how the grant will make a difference and align with KCF’s goals. Kiwanis clubs are encouraged to apply for these grants to expand their local efforts and make a more significant impact aligned with Kiwanis’ mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time.

KDSF KLANG - Hearing Test @ 14th October 2024
First of all, many thanks to our dear Dato’ Stewart La Brooy for his visit during the hearing test, meeting the person in charge Ms. Nur Aisyah Nadjwa. Ms. Nur Aisyah Nadjwa, a post graduate student (Master’s) doing her research study titled “Investigating Middle ear Function and its Effects on Real-Ear-To-Coupler Difference (RECD) Measurement Among Children with Down Syndrome (DS). 2. Most Children with Down Syndrome (DS) have ear anatomy that differs from typically developing children. These differences increase their risk of ear infections. If left untreated, these infections can lead to hearing problems, either temporary or permanent. Hearing aids (HA) are one intervention for patients experiencing hearing issues. 3. Considering this need, RECD is a test to measure the level of sound pressure within the ear canal, which assists in ensuring that HA is in optimal condition. Due to the different anatomy of children with DS, the existing RECD norms are not suitable for use. Therefore, this study aims to examine the difference in middle ear function among children with DS and their impact on RECD measurements. 4. To achieve the objectives of this study, several non-invasive procedures that are common practice in Audiology clinics were conducted at the centre. 14 of the children are taking part. Sunbeams Home
On October 11, 2024 - We attended an amazing public speaking showcase session with the children of Sunbeams Home. After 6 weeks of lessons, we witnessed a remarkable transformation in the children, from being shy and reserved to confident and articulate. We were honored to join the Kiwanis Club of Bukit Jalil to celebrate this special day for the children. The presence of our special Princess and guests from Singapore added an inspiring touch to the event. It truly takes the support of many parties to make such an event a success, from the school principal to the caterer. It was another lovely and memorable day. #Kiwanis #KiwanisTTDI #KCTTDI #JoinKiwanis #OneTeamOneMission #PublicSpeaking #SunbeamsHome #Transformation #Inspiring #MemorableDay

Movie Mania - The Wild Robot
Kiwanis One Day: Bringing Joy to Children Across Malaysia In a heartwarming initiative, Kiwanis Malaysia, in collaboration with TGV Cinemas, celebrated Kiwanis One Day by bringing together children from various regions to enjoy a special movie screening. This year, 800 children from Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Ipoh were invited to watch The Wild Robot, a film that aims to inspire young minds to be adventurous and think outside the box. As part of TGV Cinemas’ CSR program, this event was designed to provide a memorable experience for children who rarely have the opportunity to enjoy a movie. TGV Cinemas expressed their delight in partnering with Kiwanis to bring joy and valuable life lessons to these children. For Kiwanis Klang, preparations were made to accommodate 110 children at TGV 1Utama. The children from Rumah Kids, Rotary Club of Subang, Pusat Jagaan Ambe & SJKT Midlands, joined Kiwanis members for this special event. The event was graced by the presence of Governor Michael Chiew, Governor Designate Olivia Chin, and Governor Elect Gary Wong who showed their support and enthusiasm for the initiative. This celebration of Kiwanis One Day not only brought smiles to the faces of many children but also reinforced the importance of community and giving back.
