The Wild Robot Cinematic Experience for TALC Kids

News from Kiwanis Taman Tun Dr. Ismail

Description

The Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail treated 100 children and 10 of their teachers from The Assembly Learning Centre (TALC) and the Blessed Mentari Boys Home to a screening of "The Wild Robot"! The children were buzzing with excitement and swarmed into the cinema where we gathered them for a brief introduction to our organizing team. The anticipation was palpable as we entered the hall and took our seats. The children were glued to the screen as the show unfolded. The best part was hearing them laugh at the funny moments, cheer and clap when the robot overcame difficulties, and giggle with joy. We even had a few teachers admitting that they shed a few tears too. We all had a WILD time!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: Books For A Better World Sdn Bhd, Drinho, Nature Farm Malaysia , Ink Media, KC Klang Central, and various donors who have contributed to making this project a success. We would also like to thank LG Sandra, PG Dato' Fatimah, and President of KCKC Michael for coming to support us.

Service is strongest when partnerships come together

Service is strongest when partnerships come together. The Kiwanis Club of Visionaries is honoured to collaborate with Books For A Better World (BFBW) and Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) to turn excess food stock into meaningful community impact. When Gains Global reached out to donate their surplus items, we worked together to ensure these treats reached communities that would truly appreciate them. Together, we distributed the donated goodies to: 🏫 Raphael Academy – bringing smiles and excitement to the children 🏡 En Yuan Old Folks Home – sharing warmth and cheer with our senior citizens This collaboration reflects what Kiwanis is all about — serving the community, reducing wastage, and creating positive change through teamwork. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to: 🙏 Gains Global (Bauli Malaysia) for their generosity and social responsibility 📚 Books For A Better World (BFBW) for coordinating and facilitating this meaningful initiative It is partnerships like these that allow us to serve more, reach more, and do more good together. #KiwanisClubOfVisionaries #KiwanisMalaysia #GainsGlobal #BauliMalaysia #BooksForABetterWorld #CommunityService #FoodDonation #ReduceWastage #ServingTheChildren #ServingTheElderly #TogetherWeCan

PONGGAL 202617 Jan 266Klang

PONGGAL 2026

🌾 Celebrating Ponggal with Heart and Heritage 🌾 This year, we were honored to join the Apex Club of Klang and MYKITA in celebrating the vibrant Pongal festival at MYKITA Hostel, Kerling. PonGgal, the cherished Tamil harvest festival, is a time of gratitude, tradition, and togetherness. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with the boys we met during last year’s GGAC 2025 Youth Camp in Mantin, young hearts who remembered us fondly and welcomed us with joy. Many of these children are orphans, growing up without parental care, yet deeply loved by those who nurture them. Their resilience shines through as they are top scholars, talented athletes, and some even represent their state in sports. We began the day with a heartfelt prayer for health and prosperity, followed by the creation of beautiful rice based kolam artwork. The ceremonial cooking of Ponggal, a dish symbolizing abundance, made by boiling rice with milk and jaggery reminded us of the festival’s essence “boiling over” with blessings. The celebration came alive with spirited performances of Kalaripayat and Silambam, showcasing the children’s discipline, pride, and cultural heritage. In line with the Kiwanis motto "Serving the children of the world", we donated three laptops, hoping they will empower these bright young minds on their journey toward excellence. Grateful for the opportunity to share this day of joy, tradition, and connection. Nandri Vanakkam
