Green Generation Camp 2025

News from Kiwanis Klang

Description

Hellooooo there...
It’s been a while since I last posted because I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into something truly special.
Although this isn’t the first time our club, Kiwanis Club of Klang, has organized a youth camp, this marks our 9th edition. 😅😅
And what a journey it’s been!
Last year, we reimagined the entire concept and ideology, transforming our 8th camp into the first ever Green Generation Adventure 2024 (GGA 2024). A bold rebrand aligned with the Kiwanis Asia Pacific Chair’s theme: Green Generation.
We hosted 70 youth and 30 volunteers at Mantin Forest Art Farmstay, focusing on participants from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, while still welcoming paid youth from our Kiwanis Social Leadership Program that we have nurtured through clubs and schools over the years.
This year’s Green Generation Adventure 2025 (GGA 2025) was a leap of faith. A bigger vision, a bolder plan and a deeper commitment to impact.
🎯 Target 1: Empower 150 youth participants and recruit 50 volunteers
Our goal was to engage 150 youth, primarily from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, supported by 50 dedicated volunteers. We personally visited orphanage homes to extend invitations and to our surprise, most said yes! For many of these children, it was their first-ever youth camp, and their first time staying away from home overnight. 😱😱
To ensure comfort and care, we also encouraged each home to send caretakers or volunteers along for the journey.

🎯 Target 2: Rebuilding an entire program
Each activity, every moment are custom tailored for a wonderful 3days, 2 nights experience.

🎯 Target 3: Secure funding.
With a mix of grace and grit, we secured a generous grant from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Our longtime sponsors, seeing that we had doubled our headcount, responded in kind by doubling their support. Their belief in our mission made all the difference

💚 On 18–20 September 2025, it all came together.
We successfully raised enough funds to offer free participation to 138 underprivileged youth and 42 volunteers.
A remarkable feat, considering a camp of this scale typically costs RM700 per person, covering meals, lodging, and activities. Every ringgit stretched to create memories, growth and a sense of belonging.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, venue host, transport providers, and every helping hand who turned this vision into reality. Your generosity, time, and belief in the cause made all the difference

📸 Here’s a glimpse into the journey we created together…
From laughter to learning, challenge to connection, these are the moments that made Green Generation Adventure 2025 unforgettable.
Enjoy the highlights!

✨ Back to School 2026

✨ Back to School with Kiwanis Klang & Klang Synergy"A Day of Dignity, Delight, and Dedication" On the bright morning of December 13th, the skies smiled upon Klang as volunteers and families gathered for the Kiwanis Club of Klang and Kiwanis Klang Synergy’s “Back to School” initiative. A heartfelt mission to equip underprivileged children with school essentials and a renewed sense of confidence. The day began with camaraderie and culinary joy. By 10:30 AM, early arrivals including Nik, Mr. & Mrs. Sundram and Susila met up for a hearty nasi campur Melayu along Jalan Taping. The highlight? Paru masak lemak~ fuyohh! Sedap tak terkata! It was the kind of meal that fuels both body and spirit before a meaningful day of service! At exactly 11:00 AM, the team regrouped at Indah Pesona Concept Store. Thila, Kumar, Grace, Chris , Dato Stewart , Rodney & family were already in action, welcoming families who had come to select school gear. The store buzzed with energy as children tried on school shoes, matched uniforms with pride and chose stylish backpacks ready to carry both books and dreams. A special mention must go to the lady boss and the crew of Indah Pesona Concept Store, whose warmth and attentiveness made all the difference. They were truly helpful, guiding each family with care to find the right fit, whether it was the perfect pair of shoes or a backpack that matched both size and spirit added a layer of grace to the day’s mission. The arrival of the K-Kids from SJK Tamil Jalan Tepi Sungai, Klang, together with their teachers, brought bright smiles as they received their gifts of school essentials, embodying the spirit of hope and possibility that education brings. By 12:20 PM, the event wrapped up with smiles all around. Cameras clicked away, capturing moments of joy as children held their new school kits with hope and readiness for the year ahead. A special shoutout goes to Lay Hong Berhad for their generous sponsorship of Nutriplus halal-certified ready-to-eat rice meals. These meals, perfect for both home and travel, added a comforting touch to the day’s offerings. The event concluded with a cheerful group photo, sealing the memory of a morning filled with laughter, purpose and community spirit. Every child left not just with supplies, but with the dignity to walk into school proud and prepared.

NEW READING SPACE ALERT! | KCV x BFBW x MENARA ALFA 🚀 Yesterday, we quietly opened our 4th collaboration between Kiwanis Club of Visionaries (KCV) and Books For A Better World Sdn Bhd For A Better World (BFBW)… this time at Menara Alfa, Bangsar. Another cosy corner for the community to discover books, relax, and just breathe a little — all powered by the simple belief that every book deserves a second life, and every person deserves access to stories. Huge thank you to Menara Alfa for partnering with us to make this beautiful reading space a reality. This space is fully self-service, trust-based, and supports BFBW’s literacy mission, where every book purchased helps fund programmes for children and underserved communities. To my amazing KCV team: once again, we did it. One space at a time, we are building a more literate, connected and compassionate Malaysia. If you’re around Bangsar, come visit. Sit, read, recharge. And if you spot me there… I’m probably rearranging books again. 😅

Kiwanis Club of Visionaries meets at Gordon Ramsay!11 Nov 2510Visionaries

Kiwanis Club of Visionaries meets at Gordon Ramsay!

This month marks a first for Kiwanis Club of Visionaries (KCV)! For the first time ever, our monthly networking session was held at a restaurant, and not just any restaurant… we decided to go a bit ‘atas’ and ended up at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill! Big shout-out to our new member Jennifer for handling all the arrangements (including the AV system — because even Gordon Ramsay needs proper sound when Kiwanis takes over 😜). As usual, Queen Crystal ruled the mic as our ever-charismatic emcee 👑, while Marilyn, Peggy, Linda, Agnes, Phoebe, Katherine, CJ and Jaime were my amazing helper team, keeping things running smoother than a Gordon soufflé! It was such a joy meeting Matthias, Amanda, Dr. Andrea Chow, Janice, shirley, Jaime Fong and Zachary in person for the first time — and special thanks to Tan Sri Wesley, Kamae, Aimee and Joseph for joining us too! Great food, great laughter, great people…! Next month, we’ll balance things out — how about A&W Drive-In? #KiwanisVisionaries #NetworkingWithPurpose #GordonRamsayBarAndGrill #LeadershipWithHeart #Community #GivingBack #SocialImpact #FromRamsayToRootBeer
