A Leap of Faith, A Legacy of Impact

Hellooooo there...
It’s been a while since I last posted because I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into something truly special.
Although this isn’t the first time our club, Kiwanis Club of Klang, has organized a youth camp, this marks our 9th edition. 😅😅
And what a journey it’s been!
Last year, we reimagined the entire concept and ideology, transforming our 8th camp into the first ever Green Generation Adventure 2024 (GGA 2024). A bold rebrand aligned with the Kiwanis Asia Pacific Chair’s theme: Green Generation.
We hosted 70 youth and 30 volunteers at Mantin Forest Art Farmstay, focusing on participants from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, while still welcoming paid youth from our Kiwanis Social Leadership Program that we have nurtured through clubs and schools over the years.
This year’s Green Generation Adventure 2025 (GGA 2025) was a leap of faith. A bigger vision, a bolder plan and a deeper commitment to impact.
🎯 Target 1: Empower 150 youth participants and recruit 50 volunteers
Our goal was to engage 150 youth, primarily from underprivileged B40 families and orphanages, supported by 50 dedicated volunteers. We personally visited orphanage homes to extend invitations and to our surprise, most said yes! For many of these children, it was their first-ever youth camp, and their first time staying away from home overnight. 😱😱
To ensure comfort and care, we also encouraged each home to send caretakers or volunteers along for the journey.
🎯 Target 2: Rebuilding an entire program
Each activity, every moment are custom tailored for a wonderful 3days, 2 nights experience.

🎯 Target 3: Secure funding.
With a mix of grace and grit, we secured a generous grant from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Our longtime sponsors, seeing that we had doubled our headcount, responded in kind by doubling their support. Their belief in our mission made all the difference

💚 On 18–20 September 2025, it all came together.
We successfully raised enough funds to offer free participation to 138 underprivileged youth and 42 volunteers.
A remarkable feat, considering a camp of this scale typically costs RM700 per person, covering meals, lodging, and activities. Every ringgit stretched to create memories, growth and a sense of belonging.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, venue host, transport providers, and every helping hand who turned this vision into reality. Your generosity, time, and belief in the cause made all the difference

📸 Here’s a glimpse into the journey we created together…
From laughter to learning, challenge to connection, these are the moments that made Green Generation Adventure 2025 unforgettable.
Enjoy the highlights!

🌍 International Recognition
We are proud to share that the Green Generation Adventure Camp has been recognized internationally. An article written by Kiwanis International communications analyst Ms. Erin Chandler highlighted the Kiwanis Club of Klang’s innovative approach to youth empowerment and environmental stewardship.
In her piece, Chandler described the camp as “a living classroom, a playground for purpose, and a reminder that even the smallest hands can plant the biggest seeds.” This recognition affirms that our local efforts resonate globally, inspiring others to see children not just as recipients, but as changemakers.

Kiwanis Kartnival Sports 2026: A Day Full of Energy, Teamwork and Smiles On 11th April 2026, Monfort Boys Town was filled with excitement as children gathered for the “Mini Sports” event, organised by Kiwanis Club of Pantai KL. This special event was held in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur’s Kartnival Emas, bringing together fun, sports, and community in one meaningful day. We would like to sincerely thank Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur for the opportunity to organise the Sports segment as part of their main event. It was truly a great collaboration that created joy and lasting memories for the children. The children rotated through three engaging games — Capture the Cones, Bean Bag Throw, and Scarf Tag — each testing their speed, accuracy, and teamwork. Visit to Kebun Bangsar on 24 March 2026 with children from Hiichikok Foundation sponsored by Lovns Cafe

The morning sun heightened as some club members , volunteers from IGB and friends stepped into Kebun Bangsar at 930am with 31 children from Hiichikok Foundation. The city noise faded into a gentle hum behind us. With children in tow, the visit quickly turned into a small adventure—one that balanced curiosity, movement, and a touch of calm that’s rare in the middle of a busy urban day. The first thing the children noticed was the openness and the variety of plants , trees and vegetables. There was space to run, to wander, to simply be loud without the usual reminders to “keep it down.” They darted ahead along the paths with adult volunteers, stopping every few steps to point at something new—a cluster of plants, an interesting sculpture, or chasing the farm animals like turkeys , geese , and goats . What makes a place like this special with children isn’t just what’s there, but how it invites exploration. The greenery became a kind of playground without swings or slides. Leaves turned into treasures & sticks into tools . It was unstructured in the best possible way, letting their imagination do most of the work. At one point, we slowed things down with a snack break .Sitting together, we watched as the children shifted from high-energy running to a drawing session of what they have observed & discovered . Drawing talents from the children were drawn out as they express themselves on paper with pencil. It was a reminder that children don’t just need entertainment; they need space to discover. Many memories with the children were captured in photos and videos . The children also received goodie bags from IGB . Our sponsor , Mr Lim from Lovns Cafe joined us at the kebun at a later time with his family When we left the Kebun at noon , shoes were slightly dirtier and energy pleasantly spent. It was a great experience for the children and adults to connect with nature The children were then given a treat at Lovns cafe in mid valley , specially arranged by its owner , Mr Lim. Prizes were then given to the top 3 best drawing given by Mr Lim . After a time of winding down over pastries and drinks , it was time to part and bid our goodbyes . It was indeed a day well spent with the children and we hope to bring them on another adventure with the support of well wishers and donors . Kiwanis Club of Pantai KL like to thank the kind sponsorship from Mr Lim , Lovns Cafe, volunteers from IGB with the goodie bags and friends who made a difference in bringing joy to the children .

Creating Spaces for Comfort, Hope, and Stories

Creating Spaces for Comfort, Hope, and Stories The Kiwanis Club of Visionaries (KCV) is proud to support the launch of a community reading space at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with Books For A Better World (BFBW). Hospitals are places where people seek healing — but the waiting can sometimes be difficult for patients, families, and caregivers. Sometimes, a simple book can provide a moment of calm, comfort, or inspiration. Through this reading corner, visitors and staff can browse and enjoy a selection of pre-loved books while spending time at the hospital. This initiative reflects the shared belief of KCV and BFBW that books can uplift spirits, encourage learning, and bring communities together. We would like to thank the team at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur for supporting this meaningful initiative and providing a space where reading can bring comfort to many. At Kiwanis, our mission is simple: 🌍 Serving the children of the world 📚 Promoting learning and literacy ❤️ Strengthening communities Together with partners like Books For A Better World, we will continue to create more reading spaces that inspire and uplift. #Kiwanis #KiwanisClubOfVisionaries #CommunityService #Literacy #BooksForABetterWorld #ServingTheChildrenOfTheWorld #Malaysia
